Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Horseback-Riding

We will pick you up in Santiago and start driving out of the city towards San Alfonso, a small village located in Maipo Valley. As we drive deeper into the valley you will get first views of the magnificent Andean mountain range and the beautiful Maipo River until arriving at Cascada de las Animas, where you will spend the next few days. Upon arrival you´ll be welcomed by your guide who shows you your beautiful bungalow and the Cascada de las Animas complex.

Enjoy a delicious lunch and then get ready to discover the stunning mountain scenery on a horseback. After a short instruction, head up into the mountains climbing a path leading to a plateau that has been reforested with thousands of native and introduced tree species and your guide will point out the native flora and fauna. Then, the ride goes on across the Meseta plateau to the Manzanito ravine. This destination affords you with a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges, where passengers and horses enjoy a well deserved rest before starting the return path.

Finish the day with a tasty dinner and a glass of good Chilean wine and marvel at the starry Andean sky before you return to the comfort of your suite.

Day 2: Rafting  & Trekking

After a delicious breakfast get ready for a thrilling adventure on Maipo River. Chile is world famous for its whitewater rivers and hosts thousands of visitors each year who come to test themselves against its world class whitewater. The many boulders which fill the narrow riverbed of Maipo River create a challenging obstacle course with most exciting rapids. Starting at Cascada de las Animas we raft 5.9 miles downriver towards the town of San Jose de Maipo. Expect to end the trip very wet, and grinning ear to ear wishing that it lasted longer.

After a delicious lunch and some time to relax the next adventure will be waiting for you. We start a trek that will lead us through waterfalls and forests that are the result of interesting reforestation and irrigation, until we reach La Campana, a beautiful mountain of 5.900 fts. where we can appreciate a great view of the Nature Sanctuary and the Maipo river valley. Then we will continue ascending smoothly until the crossing of the Maquis (at 6560 feet high). This beautiful place bathed by an estuary and covered with native forest is our goal and the point from where we will return.

In the evening relax at the Spa´s Hot Tub and celebrate your experiences of the last days with another tasty dinner.

Day 3: Canopy & Departure

After a hearty breakfast see Maipo River from above while swinging from treetop to treetop on Cascada de las Animas´ canopy. The 560 feet cable crossing over the river is one of the longest in Chile, and zips can reach up to 30 miles per hour thus this activity is not for the faint hearted.

Every treetop carries its own platform, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular forest views whilst your safety guide prepares you for your next flight.

Before your farewell lunch you will have some free time to relax at Cascada de las Animas´ pool. Then enjoy some last views on the stunning mountain scenery before you´ll be driven back to Santiago to fly home or continue your journey in Chile.
